The Master of Science in Real Estate degree program (MSRE) provides students with a comprehensive and well- rounded real estate education. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to enter the real estate job market in a variety of specialization areas, such as commercial development and investment banking, mortgage financing, international development, and more.

The Real Estate graduate business certificate is designed for students seeking advancement in the finance field or professional entry into real estate management. The certificate is open to students with a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution with a satisfactory grade point average. Applicants must have at least one year of work experience.

Program Highlights

The MSRE program requires completion of 30 credit hours composed of 18 credit hours of required core course and 9 credit hours of electives. Students can complete the program on a full-time basis, earning their degree in 12 months, or take classes on a part-time basis, earning their degree in 24 months. Students can enter the program during the Fall or Spring semesters.

Graduates of the Master's in Real Estate (MSRE) program are well prepared to enter the job market in a variety of commercial real estate positions, in areas such as commercial development and investment banks, mortgage finance firms, international development organizations, and more. While at Kogod, students have the opportunity to network with and join professional real estate associations, including NAIOP, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), among others. The Real Estate Club, a student-led organization, frequently holds networking events, organizes project site visits, and hosts expert speakers on campus. Many prominent local Washington, D.C. area real estate developers and professionals are Kogod alumni, and sit on the Real Estate Advisory Council. Additionally, the school's benefactor, Robert Kogod, is the former Co-Chairman/Co-CEO of the Charles E. Smith Real Estate Company. The MSRE program has been ranked in the top 30 worldwide among research institutions.
