Job Description

MIG Real Estate (“MIG”) is a private real estate investment firm located in Newport Beach, California. MIG owns and operates over $2 billion of real estate investments in multi-family, office, hotel, retail and industrial properties located in the Western U.S. and Sunbelt.  The company currently owns over 6,500 multifamily units in the Western U.S. and plans to more than double this amount over the next 5 years.

 

MIG is currently seeking a qualified individual with at least 10 years of experience to serve as a Director of Multifamily Acquisitions. The candidate will lead acquisitions of value add multifamily communities throughout the Western U.S. and report to the CEO.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source acquisition opportunities with creative value add potential; prepare investment memorandums with strategic plan, proforma and timeline
  • Work with due diligence, asset management and underwriting teams to underwrite potential acquisitions and complete due diligence process
  • Present to executive team and advisory board

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of acquisition experience in the Western U.S.
  • Proven leader with successful investment track record in value add investing (Please include Deal Sheet with Resume)
  • Strong financial acumen with significant underwriting and financing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to source, envision, present and execute asset repositioning opportunities that lead to targeted returns
  • Strong analytical, research and due diligence skills – ability to gather data and make sound recommendations for strategic action
  • Strong communication skills – ability to provide clear and concise direction to the team, support recommendations to senior management, constructively advocate or defend a position, and convey critical information succinctly, verbally and in writing
  • Extensive network of investment sale brokers and owner contacts
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented work ethic
  • Nimble and creative, able to think logically to create business opportunities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer applications, including spreadsheets and modeling concepts
  • Flexible and able to travel frequently to MIG target markets
  • Professionalism and integrity are paramount qualities of MIG employees
