Job Description
As a Commercial Real Estate Analyst, you’ll join a growing team of industry specialists reporting to the Portfolio Manager, Commercial Real Estate Investments. In this role, you’ll work with a close knit team to originate, analyze and evaluate prospective commercial mortgage loans and equity investments.
Job Description: • Analyze and evaluate prospective commercial mortgage loans and equity investments • Use CoStar, Argus and Excel to derive market information, property values, analyze cash flows, and calculate DSCR, Debt Yield, LTV, and Equity returns • Discuss/present deals to the commercial real estate investment team and investment committee • Interface with mortgage/sales brokers, borrowers, attorneys, and third party providers related to deal packages received and the closing of loans or equity investments • Structure deals to isolate and mitigate risks • Write investment memorandum • Participate in the negotiation of loan terms and mortgage applications • Perform site and market inspections • Aid the transaction manager in closing loans originated • Aid the servicing manager with borrower requests related to existing loans Qualifications: • Bachelors degree of equivalent experience • 4+ years of commercial real estate experience as a portfolio lender, appraiser, underwriter, equity analyst or other hands on relevant experience • Solid knowledge of commercial real estate, lending fundamentals and equity experience a plus • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills • Ability to effectively work as an individual and as part of a team • Ability to multi-task with an attention to detail in an efficient and timely manner • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word with working knowledge of both Argus and CoStar a plusLoews Corporation is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a diverse work culture.
