Job Description
Pegasus Asset Management, LLC (“Pegasus”) is currently hiring an Accounting Manager that will be an integral member of a growing commercial real estate asset management firm that focuses primarily on retail real estate assets. The position will be focused on all aspects of financial management, including overseeing property accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development and refinement of internal control policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Create, oversee, and manage all property level financial planning, reporting, accounting operations
- Coordinate and prepare client reports, lender reports, and property budgets
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day accounting functions including but not limited to AP/AR
- Ensure the preparation and publishing of timely budget performance reports including variance analysis, and cash flow surplus, requirement, and forecast
- Develop and ensure thorough organizational monitoring and compliance to budget expectations, including the maintenance of ongoing property reconciliations
- Oversee all accounting including GL, account reconciliation and revenue recognition
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
- 4-5 years of professional work experience
- Yardi expertise required
- CPA license preferred, but not required
- Comprehensive understanding of retail real estate concepts and analysis, specifically including CAM reconciliations
- Ability to be organized and detail-oriented and to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
