Position Overview
The Development Analyst plays an integral role in project management and business development through timely, appropriate and accurate financial modeling for new infill for-sale housing development projects in the greater Seattle market area. Responsible for assisting acquisitions personnel and project managers with various types of financial analysis and market research to support the company’s strategic decision-making process.
Responsibilities:
Conduct multifamily proforma and financial analysis including sensitivity analysis and investor projections for pre-development and operating projects. The Development Analyst’s job is to quickly, through a calculated approach, ascertain the key variables and to understand how they affect the economics of a project. It is the Analyst’s responsibility to incorporate these sensitivities into the project proforma and other reports.
Key job activities and responsibilities include:
- Assist with site research, in-depth market analysis and development scenario proforma analysis related to new acquisitions.
- Build and maintain for-sale residential financial models for existing development projects including various debt and equity capital structures.
- Work with finance group to prepare project information packages for the purposes of obtaining debt and equity financing.
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
- BA degree at a minimum and 3-5 years experience in the real estate industry.
- Passion for real estate.
- Excellent understanding of financial modeling is a requirement (the company utilizes Microsoft Excel for financial analysis).
