Job Description
Title: Asset Manager
Position Summary:
Asset Manager for real estate development company and private equity fund. Portfolio consists of senior living, multi-family, self-storage and industrial assets located in New Mexico, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and South Carolina. Asset manager will oversee between 20-30 assets in their portfolio. The asset manager is responsible for directing the third-party management companies who manage the current portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze and recommend approval/disapproval of all forecasts and budgets
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners
- Work with the accounting group on compliance with loan agreements, equity agreements, and ground leases
- Conduct site visits as needed to understand operations and requested capital needs
- Review financial, operational, and market results for the portfolio vs. budget, historical performance, and underwriting data and understand variances
- Assist in the development and execution of asset strategies, including the ongoing monitoring of such strategies during the holding period, to maximize the value of each asset
- Work with third-party management companies and internal teams to maximize total return for each asset in the portfolio through the analysis of property efficiencies and identify opportunities for improved performance
- Create and distribute periodic asset management reports, newsletters, and analyses to the corporate office, investors, lenders, and other parties
- Assist accounting to manage the cash flow and profitability of each asset in the portfolio to include detailed financial analysis on a quarterly and annual basis
- Develop an understanding of the various asset types and markets; utilize the knowledge to refine business strategies
- Assist in the creation of disposition plans and assist in the preparing of assets for sale, and in the marketing of the assets
- Oversee the disposition process; including preparation of documents and property tours

Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of total work experience, preferably with 5 years in real estate and asset management; senior living experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting or similar business field; advanced degree a plus
- Must have strong knowledge of real estate including legal documentation, underwriting, valuation, purchases/sales, and property operations
- Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically in Excel
- Solid understanding of general finance, accounting principles and financial reporting
- Willingness to travel (30%-40%)
- Ability to work with many deadlines, time requirements conflicts, management pressures and ambiguity within a fast-paced team-oriented and lean environment
- Willingness to work occasionally long and unpredictable hours
