Job Description
This position will be based in East Durham, NY. There is the opportunity to help with relocation to the site, but this position cannot be a remote role.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing team with the opportunity to learn and grow in the AutoCAD and Project Management field.
The purpose of this position is to provide CAD CAFM Support.
Able to walk down a facility and generate drawing packages with limited historical information pertaining to the installation.
Provides drafting support for high complexity or unique projects, prepares various drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints and sketches.
Utilizes established techniques, standards and tools like computer aided drafting software to prepare technical drawings.
Collaborates with engineers or designers to complete and contribute to projects.
Performs walk downs to generate as built drawings from start to finish.
Makes recommendations, prioritizes drafting work, and acts as Advisor to other drafters on advanced methods and techniques.
Performs alternative engineering related tasks as directed by their supervisor.
Prepares and keeps space drawings up to date.
Conducts surveys of space.
Helps to maintain CAFM Database.
Prepares Space reports.
Creates stacking and blocking plans, space plans.
Incorporate as-built drawings into the SMD (Site Master Drawings) for all disciplines, AMEPFPS
Work with Project managers to obtain AutoCad 'as builts' from Architectural and Engineering contractors.
Comfortable working with blocks & merging layers & naming files.
Track progress in SMD & Archive folder trees
Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's Degree (AA/AS), Diploma in Architectural Technology or AutoCAD or equivalent preferred. Prior related experience preferred.
Architectural Technology/Interior Designer (Canada) preferred.
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
Intermediate skills with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of project databases. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
