PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

HTA is seeking an experienced construction project manager / owner representative to assist the Development team in ground up construction, expansion of existing facilities, and renovation projects throughout the existing portfolio.  Candidates must be attracted to a fast paced environment where responsiveness and customer service are highly valued. A predisposition towards teamwork and personal responsibility will be critical to a candidate’s success. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Preconstruction with estimates through review of general conditions, schedule, and constructability matters.
  • Monitor Projected Cost Summary Reports for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of maintenance.
  • Responsible for accurate/timely project documentation and job file maintenance in office and field.
  • Schedules Monitor updates as project progresses, drive performance to contractual milestone dates, ensure inclusion of correct schedule in trade contracts.
  • Review job sites on a regular scheduled basis, to monitor schedule progress, safety, quality control, compliance with contract documents and housekeeping.
  • Proactively communicate project schedule, cost, safety, quality, and turnover status to the development, construction team as well as executive officers and other departments as needed including leasing, development, and property management.
  • Assist in negotiation of 3rd party construction contracts and build to suit leases.
  • Monitor pay requests and payment receipt on 3rd party work.
  • Monitor/Responsibility for actions of Project Managers in: project turnover, design meetings, check-set plans/specifications review prior to bidding.
  • Ensure adoption of company systems and processes for construction operations management are met.
  • Work with peers in other markets to ensure consistency across different regional offices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in ground up medical office construction with a minimum of 6 years in project management. Experience in development highly desired.
  • Proven track record in management and coordination of contracts, ability to manage and direct Subcontractors and General Contractors, and maintain relationships
  • Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapports and interact with various levels of professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel to other markets as needed to assist with projects.
  • BS degree in construction, or related field of study desired.
