Job Description
Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Prepare consolidation of several properties from information maintained by third-party property managers of commercial and residential properties
- Record opening entries for new acquisitions
- Maintain books and records for all investors
- Responsible for review of accounts receivable and accounts payable, expense accruals, bank account reconciliations, etc., for all properties
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
- Maintain timely cash recording and monitor daily cash balances for corporate entities
- Review all invoicing and payables for properties
- Lead multiple accounting and reporting projects by collaborating with team members, property and asset managers, and other departments
- Read and interpret lease verbiage as it relates to CAM, insurance and real estate tax provisions
- Establish, modify, document and coordinate the implementation of internal controls and procedures
- Assist property management team with preparation of annual budgets and operating expense reconciliations
- Review and correct entries made incorrectly at the property level
- Assist in preparation of audit and review work papers for internal and external audits
- Prepare and deliver compiled financial statements to external accountants that reconcile for variations in reporting at the property level
- Coordinate with external accountant in preparation of tax returns
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA with 5-6 years of real estate accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Must be detail oriented and a team player
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with cross functional teams
- Must be deadline driven
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
