Financial Analyst - Multifamily Underwriting

Responsibilities:         

  • Create and maintain complex financial models in connection with the valuation and acquisition of multifamily assets and partnership interests
  • Develop long term financial projections and operating budgets
  • Calculate surplus cash flow, debt coverage ratio and other metrics
  • Analyze and interpret partnership agreements, loan and other documents
  • Prepare buy/sell/hold/refinance analysis
  • Financial reporting to investors, partners and lenders
  • Various special projects and other responsibilities to be determined

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Real Estate or Accounting
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in underwriting tax credit properties preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting and taxation matters for partnerships
  • Understanding of multifamily operations
  • Strong understanding of valuation techniques for real estate and partnership interests
  • Strong understanding of financial statements
  • Advanced MS Excel experience including complex formula writing
  • Advanced analytical/financial skills including NPV, IRR, XIRR, etc.
  • Ability to assess real estate investments and present results in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to critically consider all potential value-add strategies
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to work extra hours as needed
