Job Description

L&B Realty Advisors, LLP, is an investment firm with a reputation for excellence created by a team of extremely responsive and talented people.  We are currently looking for an experienced Asset Manager.  This position is located at Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX.

 

Title:  Associate Director - Asset Management - Multifamily

 

Reports to:     Vice President of Asset Management

 

 Key Responsibilities: Coordination with portfolio management to create and implement asset by asset strategy for in excess of ten multifamily assets with AUM of approximately $1.0B

Development of Asset Management Plans

  • Analyze effectiveness of previous plan and benchmark returns
  • Incorporate market data and intelligence
  • Review and approve operating budget
  • Create strategic objectives for property with and without ROI components
  • Develop operational tactics that support strategy

 

Execution of Investment Strategy

  • Review of all aspects of the asset operations, leasing and management
  • Consistent supervision of property management
  • Evaluate and execute solutions to problems
  • Oversee internal and external teams and individuals to facilitate execution
  • Direct insurance and ad valorem tax administration
  • Review and approve all contracts/provisions
  • Review and approve capital improvement projects
  • Review and discuss hold/sell strategies and broker selection

 

Market Expert

  • Utilize various sources and relationships to gather market and property level data
  • Understand the underlying market and regional drivers
  • Track supply pipeline within each assigned market
  • Follow sales of comparative trades in the market
  • Establish and maintain network of contacts in real estate, insurance, legal and marketing professions

 


 

Preparation of Timely and Accurate Reporting

  • Write/edit narrative summaries for monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Review and edit monthly status reports to investor and/or portfolio management
  • Review property appraisals and interact with appraisers as needed or directed
  • Prepare and/or review property internal valuations

 

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and report on underwriting assumptions for apartment acquisitions
  • Assist and coordinate the takeover and management of new acquisitions
  • Coordinate property dispositions and/or refinances
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Effective interaction and coordination with analyst pool and team
  • Light to medium travel (15%) associated with asset reviews and direction

 

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years in commercial real estate industry
  • 7+ years direct experience with multifamily sector
  • MS Word & Excel (required) (an Excel proficiency test may be administered) 
  • Must possess strong analytical, communication, organizational and computer skills
  • Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Real Estate degree or advanced degree
  • Accounting or finance background beneficial
