Job Title: Acquisitions Associate

The Acquisitions Associate will be a part of the Acquisitions team located in the Newport Beach office. This position will report directly to an Acquisitions Partner and will assist in evaluating, underwriting and transacting office, industrial, multifamily and retail investments in select West Coast markets.  

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate and underwrite a range of investment opportunities from core to value-add, utilizing sophisticated financial models and ARGUS software
  • Support the Acquisitions Partner with all analytical and transactional aspects of an acquisition, including market research, due diligence, financing, structuring, negotiating and closing
  • Prepare detailed investment memoranda for Acquisition Committee presentations and participate in the investment discussions with Partners in the Boston office
  • Manage external due diligence consultants and resources; interface with business partners, lenders, lawyers and investment sales / brokerage community
  • Travel to West Coast markets to evaluate opportunities and to perform due diligence investigations
  • Prepare business plans and manage transition of new acquisitions to Asset Management team

 

Competencies/Skills

  • Extremely strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate conclusions clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats
  • A high level of proficiency in ARGUS as well as experience in Excel
  • Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task within tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to spearhead projects in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to excel in a small, team-orientated environment

 

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background, undergraduate or graduate degree from a top-tier university

 

Start Date

Preference for an immediate start date.
