Job Description
- Lead the closing process from term sheet through post-closing, working closely with Underwriters, Legal Counsel, and Relationship Managers across both healthcare and multifamily transactions.
- Along with the Underwriting team, serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, counsel, title/escrow agents, collateral agents, and third parties during the closing process, ensuring smooth coordination and communication.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of all legal and closing documentation, ensuring compliance with credit approvals, program guidelines, and deal structure.
- Along with the Underwriting team, review loan documents and closing checklists for accuracy and completeness, identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to closing.
- Along with the Underwriting team, manage closing timelines, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays or roadblocks.
- Finalize and confirm funding and wiring instructions; prepare and approve funding memos in coordination with internal teams.
- Work in partnership with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate transaction booking, disbursement of funds, and new loan setup.
- Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to improve processes and procedures, provide mentorship to junior team members, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the closing department.
- Along with the Underwriting team, track and report on pipeline activity, expected closings, and key milestones for internal stakeholders.
- Lead or actively participate in weekly deal team and pipeline meetings.
- Lead the process to transition loans from the Underwriting team to the Asset Management team upon successful loan closing
- Collate and organize final closing binders to ensure completeness and accuracy of internal records
- Coordinate with the Capital Markets team to facilitate closing with warehouse line and syndication partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, loan closing, or related roles, with a strong understanding of the full loan lifecycle.
- Proven experience managing closings for healthcare and/or multifamily Bridge Loans strongly preferred. Experience with Agency Loans (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD) also acceptable.
- Strong working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, title and escrow procedures, and closing best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, client-focused demeanor.
- Highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented, with the ability to anticipate issues and take decisive action.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable working with internal loan systems.
