Job Description
Responsibilities will include (among other duties):
- Preparing and negotiating lease documents, such as lease agreements, renewals, subordination agreements, consents, assignments, etc.
- Analyze complex administrative and operational data and issues, interpret laws and regulations, evaluate alternatives, and develop strategies for effective resolution of tenant issues.
- Provide legal advice on property management issues, lease renewals, assignments, subleases, and other aspects of leasing transactions; working with accounting to prepare/send tenant default notices.
- Organizing real estate acquisition and sale closings.
- Preparing and “running” closing checklists and checklist calls.
- Reviewing, substantively analyzing and summarizing title commitments, surveys, zoning reports and similar real property diligence.
- Facilitating communications between transaction counter parties and their counsel(s).Monitoring and meeting transaction deadlines.
- Managing tenant litigation matters assigned to outside counsel. Managing and reviewing the work of the support staff (in-house lease administrator & paralegal). Document management and retention.
Qualifications:
- Must be admitted to the Bar in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey and must be in good standing.
- At least 5 years prior associate attorney (or above) experience at a law firm and/or in-house position. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond productively to direction and feedback, and to work well with staff and leadership at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment.
- Ability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints with competing and shifting priorities.
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy, and commitment to work product that is thorough, complete, and excellent is needed.
- Must be a team player and have a spirit of camaraderie and collaboration. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also critical.

The position is full-time, in-office. The position will work closely with all members of the VVP transactional team and will report to the principals.
