Job Description
FPM Partners (“FPM”) is a rapidly growing real estate private equity firm seeking a full-time analyst to join its team. Founded in 2019 and based in Los Angeles, California, FPM focuses on acquiring and operating value-add multifamily real estate in high-growth Western and Midwest U.S. markets. FPM’s current portfolio consists of over 5,000 units.
The analyst will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of a portfolio of apartment communities located across the United States. The analyst will work with the asset management team on the ongoing performance of each property, monitoring and analyzing financial performance, and optimizing overall operations. The analyst will report to FPM’s Asset Managers and COO.
Essential Functions:
- Review financial reporting and variance analyses and coordinate with accounting personnel to ensure that financial statements are accurately presented.
- Monitor property-level financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for individual properties and the portfolio as a whole.
- Stay updated on local and regional real estate market trends, demographics, and competition affecting our properties.
- Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Collaborate with asset managers to develop and implement asset strategies that align with investment objectives.
- Monitor property performance against strategic goals and adjust strategies as needed.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and investors, summarizing property performance, market conditions, and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of property-related documents and agreements.
- Collaborate with the property, accounting, and construction teams to ensure effective communication and execution of asset strategies.
- Prepare and assist with lender, internal, and investor reporting, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement reviews and miscellaneous related financial analysis.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of prior real estate or finance experience.
- Thorough understanding of reporting and financial statements.
- Knowledge of and experience with multifamily value-add projects and business plans.
- Team player with the ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and multi-task.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
- Occasional travel
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
