Position Overview:
We are seeking an Associate to join the Asset Management team of our private equity real estate investment group. Reporting directly to the Head of Asset Management, this role will interact with senior leaders across the firm to maximize the value of our portfolio. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and embrace the opportunity to leverage their analytic skills in a dynamic environment across a variety of property types and geographies.
 
  Responsibilities:         
  • Generate property or portfolio pro forma and return analyses to evaluate leasing, redevelopment, disposition, refinancing, and recapitalization opportunities
  • Review monthly/weekly property performance reports, identifying key trends and opportunities for strategic improvements 
  • Share insights from property performance reports and monthly management reports with senior asset managers
  • Reconcile debt, equity, and construction draws for capital projects, ground-up developments, or redevelopments
  • Prepare quarterly asset valuations and external investor reports summarizing performance and market dynamics
  • Interface with brokers, joint venture partners, attorneys, lenders, property managers, and other market participants
  • Conduct in-depth property-level, market, and industry due diligence
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3-5 years of experience in real estate asset management, acquisitions, or debt origination
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint 
  • Proven financial and cash flow modeling skills 
  • Argus or other software experience beneficial
  • Excellent oral and written communication; will be required to engage with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong attention to detail, desire to learn, and ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work in Chicago and travel to tour properties and markets
