Analyst (Multi-Family and Hospitality Real Estate)

Full-time, In-Office Position

The Analyst will report to the Managing Director and assist in all aspects of property-level operating activities and strategies for the Company’s Portfolio of Multifamily and Hospitality assets across the country.

Responsibilities include underwriting, financial reporting including budgeting & forecasting, assisting in due diligence, debt placement, and asset management quantitative tasks. 

The ideal candidate has experience in real estate finance, valuations, and financial budgeting. The candidate must be highly analytical, a self-starter, and can decipher financial data to effectively review and evaluate investment opportunities and to assess the performance of the company’s portfolio. The ideal candidate is able to work independently with minimal supervision and is able to thrive in an environment that is highly entrepreneurial, both strategic and creative, and which requires rapid learning, multitasking and prioritizing under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to): 
• Underwrite new investment opportunities for both multifamily and hotels
• Forecast income and expenses for the portfolio by analyzing monthly property financials: expense variance, income forecasting, yearly budgets, identify areas of improvement, and accounting errors
• Manage and track capital expenditures
• Analyze and monitor the financial performance of investments, which entails reviewing annual budgets, and raising awareness of performance concerns.
• Identify opportunities for value enhancement and improving cash flow 
• Assist in dispositions and refinancing 
• Monitor construction progress, budget overruns, and submit reports to lenders
• Produce ad-hoc analyses as needed

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Real Estate, Finance, or Business-related degree (advanced degree preferred but not essential)
• Experience in multi-family and hospitality assets preferred
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Understanding of financial reports and accounting
• Proficiency with Excel a must
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex business contracts and reports 
• Demonstrated ability to identify errors, problem solving, decision making, and continuous process improvement.
• Able to work proactively, independently and as a strategic partner in a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present data to various departments within the Company.
• Highly-organized, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to multi-task effectively in a deadline driven environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
