Key Responsibilities
- Asset management for a portfolio of affordable housing properties, ensuring all financial, operational, and compliance goals are attained.
- Oversee the financial performance of properties, including preparing and analyzing financial reports, approving budgets, and driving analysis to facilitate better decision making.
- Liaise with property management companies to ensure effective day-to-day operations of properties.
- Coordination with management regarding affordable and market-rate unit leasing and strategy.
- Attain subsidy increases from various city and state agencies pursuant Section 610 (NY PHFL) regulatory amendments.
- Conduct forensic analyses of financial statements and operational reports to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reductions.
- Work directly with third-party vendors, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Review and approve the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and reports to local and state agencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, property management, and third-party service providers to ensure collaborative and efficient property management.
- Provide recommendations for capital improvements and strategies to enhance asset value and performance.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in affordable housing asset management, particularly in New York City.
- Experience working with property management companies and third-party vendors.
- Proficiency in Excel, with advanced skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a forensic approach to problem-solving and data analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Agency relationships to further the collection of Section 610 additional rents.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or a related field is preferred.
