Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare pitch materials and offering memoranda for commercial real estate transactions, incorporating thorough research, financial modeling, and well-structured transaction narratives.
- Lead the execution of financing transactions on behalf of Newmark’s institutional clients, ensuring seamless deal management.
- Maintain regular engagement with Newmark’s clients by leading transaction update calls and participating in financing strategy meetings to discuss new business opportunities.
- Conduct complex financial modeling of property-level cash flows and debt/equity structures, leveraging market data, appraisals, and comparable transactions to provide accurate underwriting.
- Review and analyze key transaction documents, including leases, loan agreements, joint venture contracts, and appraisals, to extract and assess relevant information efficiently.
- Build and strengthen industry relationships through active participation in meetings, events, and real estate trade organizations.
- Contribute to weekly pipeline meetings by discussing deal flow, transaction status, market conditions, and prospective client opportunities.
- Track and maintain database of transaction executions and help identify new business opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 6-9 years of commercial real estate capital markets experience in an analytically rigorous environment. Real estate investment banking or commercial real estate lending/investing experience is preferred.
- Experience closing transactions across a broad range of asset classes and transaction types (i.e. exposure to construction, value-add, stabilized, and/or CMBS).
- Self-motivated, team oriented, and strong time management skills to prioritize tight deadlines.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
- Ability to be proactive, anticipate demands and accomplish tasks with minimal direction and oversight.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing and communication skills; able to interface with clients including their top-level executives.
- Strong writing skills with ability to communicate analytical and marketing data effectively.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Argus experience required.
