Firm Overview:
Our client is seeking an Analyst to join its Asset Management Team in New York City. The role will be an integral part of a team overseeing a real estate portfolio of hotels throughout the United States. The role will report directly to the head of asset management and will work closely with the firm’s Managing Partners.
Our client is a privately held real estate investment firm formed by alumni of The Blackstone Group and The Related Companies. Since 2010, the firm and its principals, have amassed a portfolio in excess of $1.8 billion.
Job Description:
· Analyze hotel operations, business plans, capital investments, and sales & marketing plans in order to identify and implement operational cost saving and revenue maximization strategies across the portfolio
· Develop and update forecasting models and valuation tools, including cash flow analyses for existing portfolio investments
· Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for investors (hedge funds, private equity firms and high net worth individuals), and lenders. Contribute to the further development and improvement of existing reporting and data efficiency tools
· Effectively present information and respond to questions from the firm’s Managing Partners, investors, and lenders
· Work collaboratively with Spire Hospitality to identify challenges and execute timely and effective solutions
· Review and manage capital requests from the properties and track long-term capital budgets
· Assemble due diligence and help coordinate refinance and disposition efforts
· Review, understand, and ensure compliance with all major documentation impacting each asset, including loan agreements, management agreements, franchise terms and major leases.
· Keep informed of industry trends – both macro and micro – and form opinions on how such trends may impact the company’s portfolio
· Travel to properties, as necessary, to meet with management and investors to inspect facilities and tour the market area and competitive hotels
· Perform ad-hoc analyses and produce deliverables for all verticals of the firm (investment, development, and asset management)
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree from a top tier institution with excellent academic credentials.
· 1-3 years of work experience in real estate finance – asset management, acquisitions, lending, consulting, investment sales, investment management or related field.
· Hospitality experience is strongly preferred
· Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills with ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge of data analysis in Microsoft Excel (VBA and/or other automation tools is a plus).
