Job Description

The Investment Analyst will provide analytical support to the Investments, Asset Management and Development teams by primarily producing financial pro forma models, conducting property due diligence and reporting presentations for Real Estate Investment activities. This role requires in-office attendance at our Corporate Office in McLean, VA Monday - THursday, and Friday is a remote work day. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, manage and update pro-forma cash flow models for new multi-family acquisitions, existing investments and new development projects 
  • Provide support to the Capital Markets team in obtaining debt and equity
  • Model complex joint venture structures via waterfall distribution analysis
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis across multiple variables to assess risks and opportunities
  • Assist in drafting investment committee memorandum and miscellaneous offering packages
  • Communicate with third parties (brokers, lenders, consultants, etc.) to obtain information
  • Conduct market research including market and submarket analysis, rent comparable analysis, sales comparable analysis and development pipeline analysis
  • Review existing property operating budget variances, identify issues, and work to develop action plan to address.
  • Analyze property expenses and compare against portfolio/industry averages in search of inefficiencies that can result in potential savings.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related Finance or Business discipline
  • Must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in Commercial Real Estate
  • Requires knowledge of general financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting, analysis, reporting, and project management
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage a diverse number of tasks simultaneously
  • Highly developed analytical, quantitative and communication skills
  • Highly organized, with focus on process discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Ability to develop financial and operational models
  • Acquisition, Capital Markets, Asset Management and Development experience helpful
