Controller (Part Time)

Job Description

• Oversee accounting processes across multiple entities, with a primary focus on two key operating entities.
• Manage the third-party employment process and provide oversight on payroll.
• Execute monthly tasks, including check processing, rent collection, and insurance renewals.
• Review and analyze financial statements prepared by third-party property management firms to ensure accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
• Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns for all entities.
• Support the final accounting and reporting for a select group of completed projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the real estate or multifamily development industry.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and tax principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks and Yardi) and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
• Experience in real estate development and investment is preferred.
