Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee property management operations, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and affordable housing guidelines.
- Supervise senior and mid-level managers, conduct regular site visits, and review property management policies.
- Manage vacancies, receivables, payables, and capital improvement projects, with a focus on maintaining operational excellence.
- Lead and develop a team of 40 associates, fostering engagement and professional growth.
- Oversee career development programs, employee engagement initiatives, and annual compliance training.
- Manage payroll, employee relations, recruitment, and policy updates in collaboration with HR.
- Ensure adherence to Fair Housing regulations and facilitate regulatory training.
- Handle insurance claims, inspections, and compliance with carrier requirements.
- Lead rehabilitation project oversight, USDA-related processes, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Expand third-party management contracts and explore market opportunities in DC and Virginia.
- Collaborate with ownership on new investments and financing strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in property management with a focus on affordable housing
- Proven track record of leadership, team building, and operational management within an affordable housing real estate firm
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, oversee financial performance, and implement cost-effective strategies
- Experience working with affordable housing, USDA regulations, and multifamily properties is highly desirable
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in property management software and financial modeling tools
- Ability to travel regularly to southern Maryland properties
