Position Overview
The Analyst, Multifamily Asset Management will be part of a team that is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a growing Multifamily portfolio. This role will be responsible for providing operational/financial analysis, research, asset management support, ad-hoc reporting, and portfolio updates to senior management. Responsibilities are broad and vary, and such responsibilities directly affect the key operations of the business.

Essential Duties
  • Perform advanced modeling and valuation analysis (Argus and Excel) for existing assets within the portfolio, developments and/or structured investments of multifamily properties; tasked with complex projects and modeling scenarios.
  • Create discounted cash flow models used to analyze returns for existing investments and NAV discussions.
  • Prepare thorough yet concise Memos and support the presentation of portfolio trends and operations to senior management and leadership.
  • Data driven and able to formulate key findings and themes based on judgment and empirical analysis of the data.
  • Professionally represent Ares to the broader real estate community (e.g., brokers, bankers, property management firms and other service providers).
  • Support senior management in matters related to the successful operation of various business units
  • Other special projects as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in commercial real estate (multifamily preferred) with financial analysis and modeling training in a real estate acquisitions / investment management, brokerage company or investment banking environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, intuitive, collaborative, strong problem-solver, self-motivated and team-oriented; ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel 20%.
