The company is a 22-year-old investment firm that provides an array of commercial real estate services to accredited investors including sponsored investments, advisory services, structuring and executing 1031 exchanges, asset management, real estate portfolio analysis, and consulting.
The company was formed to pursue opportunistic real estate investments in the western United States with a focus on value-add repositioning, ground-up development, and asset management of multifamily, industrial, and retail assets. Position Overview:
A fast-paced real estate investment firm is seeking an experienced Accounting individual to lead and execute across a multi-entity structure. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, seamlessly managing daily operations while maintaining meticulous financial records. This individual should have strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a solid foundation in real estate accounting. Familiarity with RealPage for accounting and Yardi for property management is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting functions in a multi-entity environment, including intercompany reconciliations and allocations
• Process Accounts Payable, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and corporate credit card transactions
• Handle Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely processing of payments and receipts
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash schedules and projections
• Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and consolidations
• Import and verify external data, ensuring accuracy in variance reporting and financial analysis
• Support investor distributions and contribute to the preparation of investor reports
• Prepare financial reports, including detailed variance analyses and insights
• Monitor and analyze financial performance across properties and portfolios
• Contribute to the development of property budgets, business plans, quarterly reforecasts, and variance analyses
• Assist in preparing tax schedules and supporting compliance requirements
• Conduct analytical modeling and compilation of reports to support updates to investment proformas for investors and leadership team
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Deadline-driven, proactive, and self-motivated
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with real estate or property management accounting software (RealPage experience is a plus)
• Experience in construction accounting and draw package management is preferred
• Ability to work during Pacific or Mountain Time hours
