Job Description
- Lead and manage the accounting team, including the controller and property accountants.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of property and corporate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Asset Management to produce comprehensive quarterly investor reports.
- Work with the Vice President of Acquisitions during the underwriting, financing (both debt and equity), and closing processes for new industrial acquisitions.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors to prepare operating agreements, private placement memorandums, subscription agreements, and other legal documents required under 506 (c) securities offerings.
- Work with our broker-dealer to ensure compliance with SEC regulations during the offering process.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with property loan covenants.
- Manage investor distributions effectively.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, financing principles, capital structures, and SEC/FINRA securities regulations.
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Ability to engage professionally with lenders, legal counsel, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional investors.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial role within the commercial real estate sector.
- Proven track record in real estate debt and equity financing.
