They are seeking an experienced, collaborative Construction Controller to join their team in Tampa.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Controller - Construction Accountant is responsible for all aspects of a construction projects’ accounting cycle from the commencement of a project through project completion.
- Prepare Monthly Pay Applications using Yardi property management software and other Accounts Receivable invoice forms
- Ensure Subcontractor/Suppliers Waivers of Lien are received and correct.
- Ensure all Compliance requirements for W-9’s, Insurance Certificates, EEO, and other documents are met by Subcontractors and Suppliers.
- Prepare Sworn Statements for billings as required.
- Assist in the follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable invoices and ensure positive cash flow for the company and its’ subcontractors/suppliers.
- Ensure contracts and change orders are processed accurately and timely.
- Analyze project variances and work with the project team to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Review and process subcontractor invoices, other job-cost invoices and supporting documentation.
- Track and report project cost and billings each month, updating relevant reporting for financial statement integration.
- Ensure Project Files are organized and follow project document guidelines.
- Engagement and collaboration with project management team.
- Work closely with our customers to ensure their reporting needs are met.
- Close out project accounts upon project completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting preferably with construction and development of real estate.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Business.
- Eye for Detail: Accuracy is critical for success in this role.
- Superior organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and decision-making.
- Strong background with all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, as well as ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software (Yardi and Procore).
