Overview
Onward Investors seeks a talented and motivated individual to join our Asset Management team. The ideal candidate will be vital in implementing effective asset management strategies to maximize returns and mitigate risk across the portfolio. This position is a unique opportunity to join a growing, entrepreneurial investment firm in a role with significant exposure to asset management, portfolio management and acquisitions. 
 
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating the due diligence processes of acquisitions and dispositions, including property inspections, lease reviews, and financial statement analysis, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of investment data and documentation.
  • Assist in the onboarding of newly acquired assets along with the creation, monitoring, and reporting on property business plans and financial highlights to be used in both internal and external investor reporting. 
  • Review and monitor monthly financial reports prepared by third-party property management firms to track asset performance while evaluating key indicators and reporting to the broader Asset Management team as warranted.  
  • Manage the preparation of annual budgets alongside third-party property management.
  • Play an active role in property-level activities including leasing strategy, capital improvement decisions, and other required items such as CAM reconciliations and joint venture reporting. 
  • Understand and monitor loan covenants and provide required reporting to lenders. 
  • Play an integral role in the portfolio reporting process including valuation of current investments and fund-level performance metrics.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in real estate, finance, economics, or accounting.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in commercial property management or asset management. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, motivated, energetic, and independent with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Argus and Yardi experience a plus.  
  • Ability to work on-site in Minnetonka, MN.
