Vice President of Operations (Multi-Family) 
 
FUNCTION:   As VP of Operations (Multi-Family) you will direct the Regional Property Managers and Property Staff in all phases of property, leasing, maintenance, and financial operations ensuring that the company’s financial, business, and customer service objectives are achieved globally. The VP will develop and execute tactical and effective plans for the property management division.   
                                           
RESPONSIBILITIES: (including, but not limited to)
  • Leadership & Management:
    • Direct regional managers and site personnel to achieve company financial and business objectives by leading, managing, evaluating, and motivating team members.
    • Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and development of site personnel.
    • Foster a positive team culture, promoting professional development and employee retention.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Responsible for the financial performance of all assets within the portfolio.
    • Monitor portfolio performance against budgets, establish metrics and benchmarks, and proactively create property-specific initiatives to enhance performance.
    • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, business plans, and forecasts, collaborating with the accounting and finance team.
  • Operational Strategy & Performance:
    • Oversee capital projects and ensure optimal property maintenance across the portfolio.
    • Present and implement strategies for increasing property value and improving financial returns.
    • Optimize the use of property management software and technology to drive operational efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, regularly reviewing operational processes and data.
  • Resident Experience & Satisfaction:
    • Monitor resident turnover and satisfaction indicators; identify opportunities to enhance the resident experience and operational excellence.
    • Implement best practices for leasing, maintenance, and overall property management to improve resident retention and satisfaction.
  • Site & Regional Oversight:
    • Perform frequent site visits to all properties within the portfolio, ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Property Management, or a related field required.
  • Experience:
    • 7–10 years of progressive residential property management experience, including responsibility for financial performance, operational results, and staff development.
    • Experience working with institutional-quality management firms.
    • Demonstrated expertise in capital project oversight and property maintenance.
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
    • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop relationships across the organization (site managers, community staff, corporate teams).
    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with property management software such as MRI and revenue management systems highly preferred.
    • Strong understanding of real estate technology platforms and online marketing, including social media.

  1. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  2. A willingness to travel regularly to various properties, including out-of-state travel as required.
