Job Description
Ladder is seeking a Senior Originator to join its origination team. This position will be located in Ladder’s New York City headquarters.
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Originate senior secured loans with a primary focus of transitional floating rate bridge and fixed rate CMBS loans across the US collateralized by all property types;
- Demonstrate ability to originate other product types utilizing the flexibility of Ladder’s balance sheet – NNN acquisitions, JV-equity investments, note acquisitions, note on note financing, mezzanine loans;
- Cover a roster of existing broker and borrower relationships as well as transition pre-existing relationships to Ladder’s platform;
- Drive lifecycle of the investment opportunity – sourcing transaction, analyzing credit-worthiness, preparation and presentation to investment committee, term sheet negotiation, closing and due diligence process, post-closing asset management monitoring and modification/restructuring when applicable;
- Attend relevant industry events and conferences, travel to accounts as applicable throughout the US based on coverage list to build and service relationships.
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related discipline preferred;
- Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in a relevant commercial real estate lending originations role with a well-respected organization;
- Substantial network of contacts and a book of business to demonstrate track-record of success;
- Experience originating a high volume of middle-market transactions simultaneously across a broad credit box (senior loans to equity, all property types, loans sizes $10m - $250m);
- Strong combination of sales skills, analytical and credit acumen, and passion to drive business, with the capacity to process large transaction volumes;
- Team-oriented professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial approach, with experience in dynamic, fast-growth environments; and
- Resourceful, extremely organized, process-oriented, passionate, and economically motivated.
