Job Description
Source and manage multi-family development opportunities in Central Texas. Oversee site identification, due diligence, budgeting, underwriting, entitlements, design, construction, and project management.

Vice President of Development (located in Houston Office)
MAJOR FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB
- Project Management: Oversee the analysis, management, execution, and coordination (between the development, construction, and operations teams) of all Central Texas projects. Prepare, manage, and coordinate internal and external deliverables for the formulation of development presentations and business plans. Must have excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple projects and direct reports at once.
- Entrepreneurial Initiative: Ability to quickly assess a broad and dynamic set of qualitative and quantitative factors in making pursuit and investment recommendations, including: market risk, execution risk, internal resource constraints, and probability of concomitant returns.
- Financial Planning: Exceptional Excel modeling skills including construction of dynamic pro formas, sensitivity tables, construction loan modeling, and creation of complex equity waterfalls.
- Network Development: Ability and desire to engage personally and communicate effectively with colleagues across functions, as well as external stakeholders in the development cycle, including: brokers, city planners and local politicians, consultants, lenders, and investors.
- Reporting & Analysis: Resourcefulness to independently research market data from various sources and organize findings in a meaningful way for purposes of investment decisions. Prepare internal and external investment memoranda and other presentation materials. A good eye for graphic detail is needed to prepare polished, professional presentations.
- 4-6 years of work experience in real estate, finance, or similar professional field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments, ability to understand complex legal documents, knowledge of real estate finance, public finance and/or project finance.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented yet self-starting work style, ability to work independently, and high ethical standards.
- Strong organizational skills, presentation abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in MS Office software.
- Spatial and aesthetic abilities; passion and appreciation for high-quality design.
- Ability to work in remote office setting (i.e. in a different city than headquarters).
- Must meet company background investigation and drug screening.
BS or BA. MBA or applicable graduate degree desirable.
