Position Overview:
As a leader of a growing real estate platform/portfolio, the Executive Vice President, Investments will serve as the primary investment strategist for the design and execution of the company’s real estate strategy. In conjunction with the broader senior management team, this position will be responsible for the direction and execution of the firm’s investment and capital strategy. The EVP, Investments will assist in developing the investment strategy, to ensure its successful communication and execution throughout the company and serve as an integral part of the fundraising, acquisition and value creation of all assets. This position will interface with key external relationships and stakeholders including investors, lenders, attorneys, and municipalities.
Responsibilities:
Acquisitions & Capital Markets:
• Effectively manage relationships with outside brokers and lenders.
• Collaborate with senior management, as a member of investment committee, to develop the equity capital strategy.
• Participate in formulating, structuring and implementing the company’s equity capital strategy, including identifying potential funding sources, fund formation and execution.
• Identify and build relationships with investors; proactively source and cultivate relationships with potential equity partners to expand the firm’s investor network and secure capital commitments.
• Help to create and review projections and underwriting of all acquisitions for reasonableness including sensitivity analysis.
• Consistent collaboration with asset management on strategy, deal approvals, dispositions, projections and budgeting.
• In conjunction with Legal negotiate all Purchase and Sale Agreements and manage the due diligence process and third-party consultants.
• In conjunction with Legal and Finance ensure appropriate entity formation.
• Review and approve with Finance all Settlement Statements.
• Collaborate with and direct Finance and Property Management to ensure seamless acquisition onboarding.
General Operations & Management:
• Effectively develop and communicate investment strategy throughout the organization and externally to future and current investors.
• Responsible for the management, guidance and development of all investment’s employees.
• Advise ownership of any operational/corporate issues.
• Execute strategic plans for all property investments.
• Coordinate, communicate and work closely with Legal Counsel on portfolio legal matters on behalf of the business including acquisitions, financing, operations, risk management and ordinary course contracts.
• Effectively help to manage relationships with outside brokers.
Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree; MBA and/or master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate management.
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, ownership mindset.
• Strong management and organization skillset.
• High level of proficiency in MS Office, Entrata, Argus (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to oversee all levels of the organization and staff.
• Strong problem solving and time management skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity, dependability and can work in a discrete and confidential manner.
