Responsibilities 

The Director of Capital Markets is charged with identifying and originating new streams of equity/capital for the organization and serves an integral role on the investor relations team. Director’s primary responsibility is the expansion of the company’s equity investor base for individual investments and for inclusion in comingled fund-raise.  
 
Key Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

-Develop and execute comprehensive capital raising strategies aligned with the company’s real estate investment offerings and goals.

-Identify, evaluate, and cultivate new capital sources, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, registered investment advisors,       endowments, foundations, institutional investors, and other potential partners. 

- Maintain existing relationships and advise clients throughout the investment process and execution of their investment needs by acting as a liaison between the investor, internal investor relations team, and different departments in the organization. 

-Manage inbound marketing leads and leverage your network to generate new prospects and to identify influential referral sources to generate new equity leads.

-Travel as necessary and actively participate in industry conferences, networking events, charity fundraisers, and industry associations to expand the company's network and enhance its reputation in the real estate investment community. 

-Assist in the coordination of internal and external marketing campaigns, presentations, and documents.  

-Collaborate with marketing, market research, investor relations, and others to review, and/or enhance various investor materials and communications.

-Utilize CRM to manage investor pipeline and new opportunities, and regularly share investor feedback with the investor relationship team and others in the organization.

Qualifications

-Education: bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred; Series 7 License required (within six months upon hire). 

- Experience: Ten plus years of related financial services experience, strong preference for alternative asset investment industry experience within client-facing roles; preferably within real estate. Real estate background a plus.   

-Skills:  Thrives under pressure and excels at meeting tight deadlines. Superior quantitative and analytical skills, able to comprehend investor model and identify the effect of project performance on investor returns. 

-Excellent teamwork, relationship and people skills. Able to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional, dynamic team. Skillful and tactful communicator; able to communicate clearly and succinctly, verbally and in writing. Intrinsic sense of urgency and efficiency, able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, managing multiple equity raises simultaneously.
