Job Description

 The Debt Investment Group of Kennedy Wilson is seeking a mid-level VP of Finance, who is driven, motivated and a self-starter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist divisional CFO with financial management of a +$7B loan portfolio with the assistance of a finance analyst
  • Primary responsibility is for the management of the loan accounting for the portfolio, including tracking of all loan activity comprising of disbursements and payments
  • Prepare month-end financial reports for internal corporate finance and accounting teams, including cash reconciliation reports
  • Prepare and distribute financial reporting packages to investment partners as needed
  • Management of cash activity for the platform, including processing wires and other transfers
  • Heavy involvement in all investor relations and capital raising activities for the platform
  • Billing and collection of interest and fees from borrowers and investment partners
  • Budget projections for the business
  • Other ad hoc financial modeling depending on business needs

Qualifications:

  • Confident, articulate, and a self-starter; takes initiative and proactively addresses requests from the company and/or investors
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience, with a preference for exposure to the real estate industry
  • CPA preferred, but not required

  • Be conscientious about achieving deadlines and have an accurate work product

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
  • Meticulous attention to detail and very analytical
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Quantitative propensity with ability to spot errors
  • Familiar and experienced in performance metrics for real estate investments
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting pronouncements in general
  • Understand how to read and write financial statements
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel (formulas and functions)
  • Interest in data automation and PowerBI
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Excel, Word, YARDI (general ledger) and Outlook E-Mail
  • Able to organize and summarize information in writing and to proofread work
  • Able to understand instructions and react favorably in work situations
  • Enjoy a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Task and goal-oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
  • Able to work in a dynamic office setting
