Job Description
Job Title: Asset Manager
Reports to: Principal
Position Purpose
- Y&O Companies is a boutique real estate investment company with predominantly retail assets in 14 states. The company’s approach is to buy and hold properties for the long term. Reporting to the founder, the Asset Manager is responsible for managing individual commercial real estate properties by developing, directing, and implementing asset strategies for assets located across diverse markets throughout the United States.
Typical Responsibilities
- Perform overall asset management function for each unique asset. This includes the following:
- Supervise third party property management companies and work product
- Oversee annual budgeting process and NNN reconciliations
- Review monthly reports and analyze results
- Act as property manager for “smaller” properties that do not have 3rd party management
- Travel to visit properties
- Coordinate internal and external communications with , consultants, property accountants, and senior management
- Assist in Portfolio Analyses as needed
- Other related items, as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate or Accounting preferred
- A minimum of 2-5 years experience in asset management and/or property management
- Some experience with retail properties preferred
- Ability to prioritize and demonstrate excellent time management
- Able to multitask and thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel
