Managing Director of Community Outreach

Job Description

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Managing Director of Community Outreach.

This important role will develop, direct, and manages specific activities related to the strategic business development activities for Virginia Housing (VH), including outreach to and liaison with groups serving vulnerable and underserved populations, local government partnerships, and non-profit relations, in collaboration with the core business units of the Rental and Homeownership Divisions.  Directs team responsible for managing activities associated with housing education, grants administration, housing choice voucher program, housing opportunities for vulnerable populations, and strategic housing outreach.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

• Must possess a working knowledge of federal housing programs.
• Must have demonstrated ability to make decisions that produce high-quality results by applying technical knowledge, analyzing problems, and calculating risks.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the community development, economic development, finance, or affordable housing industry.
• Senior level experience managing professional staff.
• Advanced degree in public administration, urban planning, community development, finance, business administration or similar areas or equivalent professional/technical certification.

The ideal candidate would also have experience in:

• Progressively responsible work experience in mortgage finance or lending with relevant duties, including experience in analyzing and executing complex commercial transactions, managing legal risks, and negotiating complex agreements and financial instruments.

Hiring Range: $227,117 – $295,250
