Harbor Capital is seeking an exceptionally knowledgeable and self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this multifaceted role, you will handle a wide range of accounting duties critical to the operation of our real estate holdings. Your responsibilities will encompass bookkeeping, maintaining meticulous financial records for our real estate holding companies, and facilitating the closings of commercial real estate transactions.


As a key contributor to the finance team, you will be tasked with recording property transactions, managing accounts receivable and payable, and executing month-end close processes. You will also contribute to preparing monthly financial statements and assist in property cash management and budgeting efforts. Collaborating closely with Harbor’s asset management team, third-party property managers, and property vendors, your efforts will ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency across all property portfolios.

This position will also provide you the opportunity to work directly with our Director of Finance, offering invaluable experience and growth potential in real estate finance. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter with a solid foundation in financial accounting and a keen interest in commercial real estate transactions.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Two years of experience in accounting

  • Understanding of financial accounting and business processes

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude

  • Flexibility and ability to work well in a team environment

  • The right candidate absolutely must have the ability and willingness to create formal,

  • documented systems and policies. If you prefer to follow instructions instead of creating

  • Ridiculously organized with keen attention to detail

Compensation package

  • Annual salary range- $65,000-80,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications
