Position Description:


Benmark Capital is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join its team. The Associate/Vice President will be exposed to our diverse network of businesses, partners, and investors, and will have the opportunity to grow and diversify along with our businesses. The position will report directly to the Director of Originations and the CEO. The Associate/Vice President of Underwriting & Asset Management will help oversee all aspects of underwriting and due diligence, and assist with asset/portfolio management.

 

Responsibilities:


Detailed underwriting of new transactions

Oversee all aspects of loan origination due diligence (Business & Legal)

Oversee all aspects of asset management

Assist with the preparation of Investment Committee memoranda and other materials

Prescreen new loan opportunities by summarizing requests, reviewing financial models, and compiling comps

Presenting initial deal summaries during weekly investment group meetings

Preparing financial models to underwrite potential loan originations

Preparing and maintaining weekly pipeline materials

Oversee all aspects of due diligence (Business & Legal)

Preparing internal investment committee memos

Reviewing and approving draw requests on construction / development loans

Monitoring loan compliance, business plan milestones, and asset performance across a portfolio of seasoned loans

Cultivating and developing relationships with borrowers, brokers, 3rd parties, and attorneys to help close and asset manage transactions

 

 

Qualifications:

 

2+ years of experience in commercial real estate debt

Strong Microsoft Office skills

Strong interpersonal skills given the small team environment

Organized and highly detail oriented

Willing to Travel at times

Highly motivated
