We are currently looking for a full-time Investment Banking Analyst to join our Real Estate Group in our New York office.

The Real Estate Group is a part of Piper Sandler’s Financial Services Group (FSG), which has more than 100 financial services professionals and an industry leading track record of having completed over 300 M&A transactions since January 2016 with an aggregate deal value of approximately $124 billion. Since its formation in 2011, the Real Estate Group has had a role in 79 capital raising transactions across common stock, preferred stock and debt securities that have raised $18.6 billion for REITs and real estate-related companies. Over the same time period, the Real Estate Group has also served as financial advisor to REITs and real estate clients on 27 transactions with transacted deal value of over $8 billion.

Our Financial Analyst position offers a unique opportunity for ambitious professionals seeking to play a meaningful role in our continued growth while gaining significant experience in real estate M&A, debt, and equity. A successful Analyst at Piper Sandler supports our Associates, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors, and will assist in the preparation of valuations, memorandums and analyses for M&A, private placements and capital raising assignments, and will participate in due diligence and drafting sessions for public offerings. The Analyst is also responsible for creating pitch books, conducting real estate-related and company specific research, and leading modeling and valuation work.  Real estate- and REIT-related modeling are a plus but Excel skills are essential.  Ability to navigate CoStar, Axiometrics, ARGUS and other real estate-related data services and software programs is also a plus.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top tier school; finance, business, management, accounting, or other related degrees preferred (but not required)
  • Recent graduate (2022 or 2023) preferred
  • Genuine interest and understanding of real estate fundamentals, finance and trends
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Extremely detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Candidate must be able to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects at once and learn quickly
  • Excellent analytical, modeling, verbal, and written communication skills

Analyst Career Path:

Top performers may have the option of a third year. Direct promotions to associate level positions are also available.

The anticipated starting salary range for New York-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $100,000 - $125,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
