Hotel Development and Constructional Manager

 

Position Overview

Dovetail + Co is seeking a hotel development and construction professional to join a best in class team of hotel professionals that are passionate about creating meaningful experiences in remarkable destinations. The candidate should have direct project management experience and a track record of success and continuous improvement. The position will be based in NYC but will require travel to Dovetail’s hotels. Compensation commensurate with experience.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Support a development department that manages a project team of design, architecture, development and construction professionals from concept to opening on-time and on-budget.
  • Plan, budget, and execute ongoing ROI and capex projects in collaboration with operations at each of Dovetail’s current properties.
  • Be a team player and be willing to roll up your sleeves and problem solve on their own and in team environments.
  • Work with government entities through entitlements, permitting and close-outs.
  • Oversee construction administration, contractor payments, change order management, and quality control.
  • Oversee and manage FFE & OSE procurement and installation process.
  • Develop and track punch list process with contractors, designers, and FFE vendors.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, & quarterly reporting for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Creative & Operations to ensure a cohesive and immersive hotel experience.
  • Support acquisitions with onsite visits, physical due diligence, and business planning.
  • The role will report to the Chief Development Officer and work closely with the entire Dovetail leadership team on each project.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of Development or Construction Experience.
  • BS/BA in Real Estate Development, architecture, engineering, land planning, finance construction or relevant field; MS/MBA a plus.
  • Direct project management experience of relevant renovation or construction projects.
  • Must have an owner’s mentality and act as a fiduciary for each asset and investment.
  • Must be highly organized, a strong communicator, and detail and process oriented.
  • Highly collaborative team player, with exceptional stakeholder and interpersonal skills.
  • Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to take initiative and complete tasks.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
