ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Leave of Absence Manager, you will support the benefits function in the design, evaluation, implementation and ongoing management of company LOA policies and programs. You will analyze current patterns of program usage to evaluate their effectiveness from a cost, process efficiency and member experience perspective. The Leave of Absence Manager acts as a subject matter expert, driving informed decisions on contract negotiations and vendor management, including ensuring ongoing adherence to contracts and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Orchestrate the Leave Management programs and policies, while ensuring regulatory compliance with various Federal, State and Local laws regarding FMLA, short and long term disability, state guaranteed leaves of absence, disability accommodation and benefit administration.
- Oversee team and vendors responsible for leave program administration.
- Partner with the CBRE Leaves Team, vendors, and other internal teams (data entry, People Business Partners, Payroll, etc) to accurately manage leave of absence data (including payments, arrears balances and leave dates) and perform periodic audits to confirm accuracy.
- Manage LOA team to provide quality customer service to employees and People Business Partners by thoroughly answering benefit and payroll questions relating to leaves and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Actively supervise employee escalations and systemic issues/limitations to evaluate opportunities to eliminate future issues or concerns and recommend process improvements.
- In partnership with benefits consultants, Legal and leave vendors, monitor legislative updates for new state and local leave requirements to remain in compliance with the constantly evolving legislation.
- Provide recommendations to department leadership on policy and process changes with applicable laws and complement overall company TR strategy.
- Supervise overall plan performance, data trends, program costs, market landscape, and employee
- Lead new program/vendor implementations and/or process improvements.
- Ensure that the organization retains a competitive benefits posture in the marketplace.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 to 7 years of related experience managing employee absences.
- Extensive knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including federal and state law.
