Job Description:

BrightSpire Capital is seeking an analyst to join the investment management team. The candidate will primarily assist in underwriting and evaluating new real estate debt opportunities and perform in-depth, market, property, and borrower due diligence. The analyst will also provide on-going support to our portfolio and asset management teams. The candidate should be a strong communicator, capable of multitasking, and a team player. The candidate will be joining a seasoned team and will be expected to integrate effectively by demonstrating a strong work ethic. The analyst will join an active and fast-paced team and will receive exceptional exposure to a multitude of transaction types across real estate sectors nationally.

Responsibilities:

• Play a key supporting role in analyzing new investment opportunities
• Conduct a range of quantitative and qualitative analyses (e.g. strategy assessments, market analyses, financial modeling, real estate valuations, etc.) for the Originations, Debt Capital Markets, Asset Management, and Portfolio Management teams
• Analyze and monitor the performance of existing investments
• Prepare investment committee memorandums and other internal/external presentations
• Broadly support portfolio/asset management team functions
• Execute general corporate tasks

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, real estate, investment banking, or financial services
• Strong GPA from a top-tier university (preferably a business major with an emphasis in finance or real estate)
• Keen interest in real estate
• Outstanding quantitative skills, including advanced Excel skills and ARGUS
• Financial modeling, finance, and accounting skills, with superior attention to detail
• Results-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive with a strong work ethic
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively, independently, and professionally in a world-class investment organization

Compensation:

Base Salary: $95,000 to $110,000 annually depending on experience.

The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, knowledge education, and skill level. This is a bonus-eligible position and bonus compensation will be finalized at the time of offer.

Office Attendances:

The position requires you to come into the office 4 days per week: Mondays to Thursdays.
