About the role

Leads all aspects of Investment Banking line of business to generate and maintain maximum profitability. Guides' analysts, associates, and vice presidents. Builds a cohesive, diverse team dedicated to ongoing improvement of business operations.

What you'll do

Builds strong business operations and sets specific, measurable, challenging yet achievable goals and objectives.

Evaluates capital markets trends for potential impact on operations and responds with vital business changes as indicated.

Analyzes financial performance for investment banking activity. Targets opportunities for business growth. Generates powerful proposals and makes convincing presentations to achieve new business.

Collaborates with Capital Markets President and/or senior leadership to develop a concise plan for growing Investment Banking initiative, focusing on our benefit as "an expert advisors" rather than "tactical or transaction specialists".

Establishes and maintains strong positive relationships with existing and prospect clients to ensure high satisfaction level.

Prepares short- and long-range strategic plans, priorities, objectives, and the annual budget. Responsible for meeting the financial goals and expense management for assigned line of business.

Oversees financial accounting and reporting, identifying mid-year trends and re-forecasting as indicated.

Creates, communicates, and steer the vision, mission, strategy, objectives, business plan, budget, policies, and operating plans for assigned area.

Serves as a change agent for business improvements. Develops consensus and support for new initiatives and processes.

Originates and performs investment banking mandates across all real estate product types to include mergers & acquisitions; investment banking advisory; public and private debt and equity transactions.

Implements a career development and succession plan, along with an effective retention program for key personnel, while creating a more diverse organization. Recognizes expertise and empowers peers and employees to build a dynamic team that is viewed by others as highly productive, capable and the best in the industry.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university required. Master's degree (MA, MS or MBA) preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years comprehensive experience in investment banking or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Series 79 and 63 Securities Licenses. Series 24 for supervising Investment Banking representatives preferred.
  • Appropriate designations and participation in professional and industry organizations desired.
  • Ability to empower and communicate effectively with key employees, top management and client groups.
  • Possess advanced financial skills and knowledge to review the complex financial reports prepared by others and to make recommendations to executives that impact the line of business.
  • Ability to solve advanced problems and take care of a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have direct impact on the division/line of business/company.
  • Extensive knowledge using Microsoft Office.
  • A strong entrepreneurial and creative spirit.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of all facets of property and asset management, leasing, brokerage, marketing, and financial reporting.
  • Is flexible and adept at prioritizing multiple priorities and initiatives. Displays excellent organizational skills.
