Real Estate Equity Capital Markets – Analyst

Role:

Ackman-Ziff is seeking a Analyst to join our Equity Capital Markets team in Boston (Newton) by June 2023. This individual will work directly with senior members of the team to execute broad-based investment activity nationally with a focus on programmatic joint ventures, alternative property sectors, structured equity, and entity-level transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of underwriting, analysis, due diligence, and closing commercial real estate transactions and joint ventures as well as promoting collaboration and team culture in a fast-moving environment. The analyst position features a competitive salary and bonus compensation structure.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of due diligence, underwriting, deal modeling, and closing for acquisition and development opportunities across various markets with varying investment structures and risk profiles
• Assist deal team in deal structuring, financing, and negotiation of deal terms
• Prepare Offering memoranda and related materials through market research, risk analysis, and in-depth understanding of investment factors
• Analyze economic, market, legal, and political conditions within assigned sectors and regions
• Alongside other senior members of the team, develop and cultivate strong relationships with real estate owners, operators, GP/LP investors, investment bankers, joint venture partners, and other industry players
• Leveraging the firm’s network of industry contacts, work alongside senior Transactions professionals to seek new transactions and work with a variety of sources to identify new deal opportunities
• Work as part of an efficient team of professionals to maximize productivity of the JV Equity team, support each other with complementary expertise, and work together to develop the skillsets of analysts

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Finance/Math, Real Estate, Business, or related discipline preferred. 
• 0-2 years of commercial real estate investment or capital markets experience including underwriting, due diligence, and closing real estate transactions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability including underwriting and complex financial analysis
