Acacia Capital Corporation (“Acacia”) is an Investment Advisor focused on multifamily property investments. Acacia raises capital from both institutions and high net worth individuals. Since its formation in 1986, Acacia has invested over $3.5 billion on behalf of its investors. Through its latest discretionary fund, Acacia is actively seeking multifamily investment opportunities in Southwestern and Western Markets.
Acacia is involved in all aspects of multifamily investments including sourcing investment opportunities, providing asset management and construction management services, and overseeing dispositions.
Job Description
The asset management analyst will be based in San Mateo and will work directly with Acacia’s asset managers on multifamily operations. The asset management analyst plays an integral role in reporting and interpreting operational data, overseeing third party property management, executing and evaluating property level business plans, financial planning and analysis.
Primary responsibilities will entail:
- Analysis of monthly property level financial reporting packages
- Working with asset managers to monitor leasing activity, capital projects, and operational strategies
- Preparing all financial analysis material for Acacia’s quarterly portfolio reviews
- Spearheading the preparation of property budgets and re-forecasting as needed
- Ad hoc reporting for the Asset Management team and Acacia’s Investment Committee
- Monthly and quarterly financial variance reporting
- Conducting detailed market surveys
- Performing due diligence on potential property acquisitions and dispositions
- Managing capital budgets and renovation log tracking
- Analyzing annual property taxes and working with Acacia’s third party tax consultants
- Placing annual property insurance policies and monitoring property level incident reporting
- Maintaining complex financial models
- Managing lender compliance and reporting
Qualifications
Ideal analyst candidates will have a degree from an accredited 4-year university and one to three years of experience in the real estate industry with a particular focus on asset management or accounting. This position requires a highly qualified and motivated person to be responsible for the financial modeling and reporting of Acacia’s investments. This position requires strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office, and a fundamental understanding of real estate operating metrics and financial statements. Candidates must be able to work independently and take the lead in completing their portion of asset management duties in a timely manner. Candidates must also be able to effectively coordinate and manage multiple asset management assignments, at any given time, as well as to prioritize his/her tasks and efforts. The candidate must also possess the ability to work well within a team environment.
