What’s the role:
Seeking a proven commercial mortgage originator looking to work with our experienced mortgage banking team in an entrepreneurial environment, without corporate constraints limiting your potential. Considering candidates in Arizona including Tucson and California. If you find you are being constrained by "off limits" contact hoarding within your organization, or insufficient sources of capital, or time constrained by regulatory reporting, you will likely find our privately held company a refreshing and lucrative change. You will benefit from our extensive lending relationships that provide financing for each stage of a commercial property's life cycle, from construction, to permanent and through future renovation/repurposing. We have strong relationships with a full spectrum of lenders including life companies, multifamily agency lenders, debt funds, CMBS lenders, family offices and banks/credit unions. And, by joining Churchill you will gain access to 15 life insurance companies not accessible to brokers or mortgage bankers who do not have the correspondent relationship we possess. These lenders make loans from $1 to $250 MM. We are a privately owned firm with a collaborative team headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. We offer capable analyst and closing support and current technological tools. We finance multifamily, industrial, retail, office, senior housing, hospitality, and self-storage properties. We lend regionally from our Arizona headquarters.
Qualifications:
- Passion for commercial real estate lending
- 2-5 years or more experience in commercial real estate mortgage banking, lending or investment sales, dealing with transactions over $2 million in size.
- Strong marketing and negotiation skills.
- Thorough understanding of commercial real estate investment, finance and valuation.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Argus, and Internet search.
- Gregarious personality that can source business from personal network.
- Enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and manage time and client expectations.
- Self-starter who anticipates problems and develops solutions.
- College degree in Real Estate, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
- Honesty and integrity always, team player with a strong work ethic
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop new clients as potential borrowers/sellers.
- Contacting the real estate financial network as referral sources, such as real estate brokerage firms, appraisers, lawyers, accountants, banks, or title companies which may have clients in need of CCC’s services.
- Maintain regular contact with existing borrowers and analyze existing portfolios to uncover opportunities for refinance, financing of new properties, or property sales.
- Maintain knowledge of the specific appetites of various lenders through regular contact with CCC’s lenders and with other lenders through attending local industry functions, following up on contacts and leads, and handling new business calls.
- Underwrite potential deals with assistance from staff; develop recommendations for loans that meet with our lender’s criteria.
- Close loan/equity transactions with the assistance of staff.
- Maintain knowledge and data on market conditions in the major metropolitan areas of Arizona and other key western markets, and maintain data on key cities for appraisal and decision making purposes.
