Job Description

Cleghorn Capital is a Washington, DC based real estate investment platform focused on multifamily and industrial assets in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast United States.  The firm acts as a sponsor on behalf of private capital seeking direct investments in value-add and opportunistic real estate transactions.  Cleghorn Capital is seeking an Investment Analyst to assist in all aspects of the real estate investment lifecycle from acquisition to disposition.  The role will report directly to the Managing Partner and will support existing and future multifamily and industrial investment properties.

 

Responsibilities

  • Asset Management
    • Review monthly property-level reporting and track performance
    • Interface with third-party property management, leasing and construction teams to coordinate the execution of property-level business plans
    • Develop periodic investor reports on the operations and performance of each investment
    • Manage lender relationships for reporting requirements and construction draws 
    • Perform on-going property-level financial analysis and participate in formulating long-term strategic plans for individual assets
  • Acquisitions
    • Track trends and metrics in target markets to help develop investment thesis
    • Maintain a deal pipeline database
    • Build financial models and underwrite new acquisition opportunities including cash flow analysis, rent and sale comp research, and other asset-specific due diligence
    • Support the due diligence process for deals under contract through closing
    • Interface with brokers, equity partners, attorneys, lenders, and other market participants through the acquisition process
    • Prepare comprehensive investment materials and help present potential acquisition opportunities to investors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of real estate experience
  • Familiarity with multifamily and industrial assets is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organization skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and an ability to build and leverage connections within the industry
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in an office setting
  • Periodic travel is required to tour properties and markets
