POSITION SUMMARY

The CIO position will report to the CEO & Founder of RSN.  
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Sourcing real estate investments in our target markets by developing broker relationships.
  • Creating and maintaining an effective acquisition team (outside real estate brokers and consultants) and managing the people, programs, processes, and analysis of acquiring commercial real estate.
  • Recommending financing programs for the existing portfolio
  • Sourcing debt capital to support the activities of the real estate portfolio. 
  • Sourcing new equity partnerships and high net worth investors.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years related experience with a private investor, opportunity fund, investment bank, or other opportunistic, profit-oriented investment organization. 

Experience must include:

1. Have a proven track record in managing a multifamily and/or commercial real estate business.
2. Must have multifamily acquisition experience.
3. Leading an investment management team.
4. Portfolio management experience: +$20MM AUM
5. Writing strategic plans, locating, structuring, negotiating, and financing commercial real estate transactions
6. Experience in raising both equity and debt capital to support new acquisitions initiatives and existing properties.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Identify potential strategic commercial real estate investment trends and opportunities. 
  • Takes a leadership role in decision-making on investments 
  • Leads underwriting and due diligence activities 
  • Briefs on proposed acquisitions
  • Identifies sources of debt and equity financing relationships 
  • Works with professionals to structure and negotiate real estate transactions. 
  • Oversees closing of transactions. 
  • Responsible for the management of the investment group. 
  • Travel to visit investment managers and real estate investments.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time finding new investment opportunities. 

Educational Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in real estate, business administration, economics or finance, complemented by a master’s degree (MBA a plus but not a must). 
  • Skills, Abilities, and Personality Traits must align with our culture and values (described above). 
  • Entrepreneurial personality. 
  • Strong work ethic. 
  • A proven track record of successful investments. 
  • Proven broker and debt/equity sourcing relationships. 
  • Superior understanding of how to find structure and close profitable real estate investments. 
  • Knowledge of all types of commercial real estate investments and multiple market knowledge. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively delegate and to manage. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships. 
  • Strong excel modeling experience.  
  • Proven leadership abilities.
