One Real Estate Investment a Miami based commercial real estate investment management firm focused on multifamily real estate is seeking a new team member to join in the role of Development Associate. The Associate will be an integral team member in all phases of OREI’s real estate development including sourcing, analyzing, negotiating, structuring, and closing land and development transactions. The Associate will also be responsible for liaising with our third party development partners to oversee their progress and report directly to OREI’s CEO and CIO. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to join a growing arm of an established firm to build out a large multifamily development platform.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and vetting prospective land sites for development of garden style multifamily
- Coordinating a team of third parties consisting of developers, contractors, legal, architects, engineers, lender, title, surveyors, etc. to conduct development
- Conduct detailed financial analysis on prospective real estate assets
- Create internal status reports to CEO and CIO on development progress
- Manage costs and budget and oversee accounting and financial reporting of development
- Build and/or update financial models to assess relative risks and opportunities of a given deal or structure
- Prepare investment memoranda for internal partners and external investors such as teasers, PowerPoint investment memos, etc.
- Track economic, capital market, and real estate trends to help drive investment strategies and select geographies
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a focus in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Real Estate, or related development or engineering discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, architecture, development or real estate
- Preference for experience in Multifamily (apartment complexes) real estate development
- Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability
- Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness and eagerness to learn
- Ability and relevant citizenship requirements to live and work in the US (Miami)
- Ability to travel frequently
