Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Chicago, GEM Realty Capital, Inc. (“GEM”) is an integrated real estate investment firm with over $5 billion of assets under management. GEM invests in private-market real estate assets through GEM Realty Properties and in publicly traded real estate securities through GEM Realty Securities.
Description of Job:
Position supports the Business Development team (Senior Managing Director, SVP, and two VPs) and will oversee the daily flow of investor relations activities which includes managing investor-related data in the contact relationship management system (CRM) such as prospective investor pipeline and investor account updates. Candidate will also be a key contributor in completing prospective client RFPs and questionnaires. They will also manage upkeep of marketing materials to ensure data is current and accurate. Individual will be expected to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment to complete projects while juggling multiple tasks. Ability to think independently and remain proactive in anticipating the needs of current and prospective investors are paramount. Must have experience working in an investor relations role with CRM experience.
Description of Responsibilities:
- CRM Database: Responsible for maintaining a robust CRM used for both investor reporting and fundraising, distributing investor correspondence and reporting, and creating customized reports as needed by the BD team. Demonstrate a sense of urgency and confidentiality in handling sensitive investor information.
- RFPs/Due Diligence Questionnaires: Manage completion of routine and ad-hoc RFP and DDQ requests from potential and current clients. Ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams to source information, manage the review and approval process, and produce a final product in a time-sensitive manner.
- Marketing Materials: Maintain performance and organizational information on an on-going basis to ensure accuracy and consistency of marketing materials across multiple funds and strategies.
- Project Management: Execute on ad-hoc projects and tasks, including playing a key supporting role in the production of the firm’s Annual Meeting for investors, and manage the quarterly inflow of audit confirmations (liaison between auditors and financial reporting).
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college required
- Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar investor relations or related financial services function with experience completing RFPs.
- Experience working with a CRM and/or proprietary investor database (similar to Salesforce) is a must!
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Proven proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Professional and personable individual with excellent attention to details, ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks and ability to sustain a consistent fast pace
- Familiarity with investment “speak” a plus
